Cockroach Control

Cockroaches are one of the biggest problematic pests in North America, having the ability to adapt to various environments very quickly. They are common in commercial buildings, restaurants, apartments, and homes, usually found in the kitchens and bathrooms. There are many ways for cockroaches to enter your home or business, by coming through cracks, vents, sewer and drain pipes. They also transport with people, by boxes, grocers, and even attached to clothes of the humans themselves. These types of insects reproduce extremely fast, and are excellent at hiding away and not being found. Because these bugs are nocturnal, they are more active during the night; you may see them scurrying away if you were to turn the light on in the middle of the night. They tend to inhabit dark, hidden areas that are high in moisture and humidity. Another sign of having a cockroach infestation is finding their droppings around your house or business. Having cockroaches as a pest is a severe risk because they transmit and are carriers of a range number of diseases and their droppings are the cause of asthma and eczema for many people.

American Cockroach

Order: Blattodea

American cockroaches are one of the largest types of cockroach that are a reddish brown colour, and have a yellowish border around their oval-shaped body. They’re average length is around 4 cm and about 7mm tall. These types of cockroaches have the ability to fly and are usually found outdoors in warm, moist temperatures. Indoors, their main diet consists of crumbs and spilled food and outdoors they usually eat leaves and other small insects. These types of cockroaches have the ability to fly, but rarely do. They prefer to be indoors rather than outdoor, desiring warm and humid temperatures. These types of cockroaches are especially found in restaurants, food factories, hotels and nursing homes, getting around through their sewer systems. They’re considered to be scavengers and omnivores, eating almost anything from glue to starchy or sugary foods. Oriental Cockroach

Order: Blattodea

Family: Blattidae

The oriental cockroach is also known as the water bug because of their preference for dark and damp areas such as under sinks, and in basements. They are a dark brown or black colour with a glossy body. They vary in length of about 18 mm to 29 mm long. This type of cockroach is especially of concern because they travel through sewer and drain pipes and live off filth and garbage, making them exclusively harder to get rid of compared to the other types of cockroaches. My tenant had a cockroach problem in the basement, so I called Termax. They came at the scheduled time and took their time to spray all the cabinets and baseboards. Ever since that treatment there has no longer been any cockroaches.

I called Termax for my raccoon problem back in June. The technician took his time to explain us the situation. He installed a one-way door and the next day my problem was solved. He even found 5 baby raccoons in my attic that I was unaware of! They also sealed up all my vents to prevent any other raccoons or squirrels from breaking in again.

I heard noises in the middle of the night so I went to take a look. When I went to my kitchen I saw a mouse running by! I'm terrified of mice so my friend told me to try calling Termax even though it was really late. This was around 1am but they still sent a technician out right away when I called. He came within the hour. Not only did he catch the mouse for me but also laid some bait stations around my house. I was really happy with their service, haven't seen a single mouse since then
